Pop Music:
I have decided to choose Pop music for my music video as the results from my survey that I created stated that Pop was the top result.
Pop music is an abréviation for Popular Music, it originated from the United States and United Kingdom during the mid 1950s. Pop music has a variety of styles, such as electric, urban, dance, rock latin and country. Although pop music is identified though other factors, including, being short/mid length songs, written in a basic format and the chorus, melody and hooks will be repeated throughout. Pop songs are made to be catchy.
Pop music has a very large target market, it includes both males and females around the age of 14-24.
Historically American and British artists have dominated pop music, and todays pop music bears significant influences from the development of recording technology. Electronic music is todays top-selling pop music.
However in 2011 Adeles song "someone like you" became the first pop song featuring only piano to become number 1 in the charts. Also in 2014 Taylor Swift with her album "1989" became the most prominent country music performer to shift to an album that is entirely pop music.
